Xylia Buros

Xylia is a writer, marketing strategist, and business development leader with more than 15 years of experience helping architecture firms increase visibility, secure new work, and expand their impact. She works at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and business development — partnering with firms to define their positioning, sharpen their message, and translate that clarity into meaningful opportunities.

As Director of Business Development, Xylia leads strategic growth initiatives, cultivates client relationships, and develops new business opportunities across the firm. She previously served as AVEC’s Director of Marketing & Communications from 2019 to 2023. Prior to launching her own marketing consultancy in 2016, she held marketing leadership roles at two architecture firms in Portland, Oregon, and served as Programs Director at AIA Portland.

She holds a BA in English Literature from New York University, where she graduated magna cum laude, and has written extensively on art, design, and business. Originally from the Midwest, she has lived in New York, London, Berlin, Chicago, and Portland, and now calls Los Angeles home.
